Wait

“Wait until after dinner for that snack,” said my mother as she made dinner for all of us every Sunday afternoon. It seems like so long ago when we had company on a sunny afternoon. My uncle would bring donuts for dessert and dad would cook on the grill. Corn on the cob was my favorite because he would soak it for hours in a big pan and then wrapped it in wet towels on the grill waiting for the towels to burn. And the towels would become black and useless but the corn was delicious and so very sweet.
And today I still love corn on the cob in the summertime and cannot wait until the local farmers have some corn at their stands.

Find ways to make the memories come back with clarity. You will then see that things in life have both black and white along with soft shades of gray where you may see things differerntly as you age.

This is a good thing because if you wait long enough, the bad things that you remember all turn to a golden hue of love because the golden years are soft with lovely memories all tucked into a circle and the bad ones are in the center of your circle of love not to be touched if you do not want to have them in your mind’s eye.

So circle around your memories finding that good memory of you fishing with your dad and how you lost his favorite fishing pole.
