Ice Castles from nature

You piled the snow up in large hills as you weathered the storm, and now the ice castles are coming down
I ask myself the question; “What is getting in my way,” every once in awhile, especially when I think that things are becoming difficult, or I feel a struggle coming along. I usually have something in my life that I have to work on every day to keep myself in check. You know the drill; mustering up some positive thoughts so that you can smile, or at least put on a happy grin for others you may see.
Smiling is a good way to start the day.
There is much theory on the many benefits of smiling and how it automatically helps you to feel better.
If you live in a cold climate, winter is difficult if not impossible at times to stay on the positive side of life with the lack of light and the sun hidden from view. But remember that the sun is still there, hidden behind a cloud but there for you. Find some ways today to make your own sunshine if it is dull outdoors; putting some color into your life. Wearing bright yellows, purples and orange hues can help you to create a sunshiny and healing way for your day.
Physical Blocks
Today was different, it was not an emotional discord that was keeping me from my daily routine, it was a physical one.
I looked at the end of my driveway and the large icy boulders had fallen into my path making it impossible for me to leave.
I literally had to remove each icy boulder in order to move on today.
Castles that fall
I looked around to see if there was a snow plow that had just gone by that had knocked down my castle at the end of the driveway. No plow was in sight, but there was some sunshine. Could it be that the sun had caused a mild thaw of my castle; causing the large ice boulders to move, dropping their icy ways into my path? I was the only one that this icy explosion had happened to; I looked carefully down the street to see if anyone else was shoveling the icy boulders, and their driveways were clear. Yes, it was just me; a sign for just me to see. Maybe it is time for me to slow down. I thought carefully about this and decided that I was delayed because I was supposed to be. You know, “Life unfolds every day as it should.”
Nature has a way of telling us things, and I believe that something in life today needed to be slowed down to allow me to be where I was supposed to be, and a little delayed.
I looked at the situation; knowing that I had time to shovel the boulders but also realized that they were big and I had to chop the icy blocks before I could lift them. It was a difficult task that I usually had my husband to help me with. But I am strong and knew I could do this job.
It took me almost an hour of constant shoveling, chopping with heavy breath to move the obstructions from my driveway, but I did it.
Sometimes you have to physically move things from your life in order to make things better. And this experience allowed me to look at things from a different perspective; thinking about the other things that may be getting in my way down my path.
What do you have in your life that needs tending today?
