My mom had a green thumb that she passed along to me. We used to plant flowers together every spring
My mom gave me comfort all of my childhood. When I had a problem, she was there.
Whether it was a big problem or just a tiny scratch, she comforted me in her way. Now that I am approaching the second half of my life, and my mom is still with me, she needs comfort and love that I try to give often.
Comforting Words and Love
It can be difficult to find ways to comfort someone who may not seem to know you all of the time. But even when you believe they may be gone, they are still there in spirit. I bring gifts of my grandkids to my mother’s side, and this helps her to perk up. I rub her back and touch her softly as she did for me when I was a child.
And when I visit my mom, I know that deep down inside, she is still around listening to me, asking questions and telling stories that help my heart and soul.
Be still and Listen
Sometimes you just have to be still to hear the sounds and words that can help you. In this world of fast paced living you may forget the simple things like a hug or pat on the back from someone.
Every moment in life is significant. A smile, a warm touch, and kind word can be so very meaningful to someone who needs it. Bring some love into someone’s life today.
