Staying with the flow of living
You know how important it is to stay on the positive side of life, but do you stay there?
Speaking as if you are positive can help even when you are not feeling it!
Even if you are pretending to be hopeful and optimistic, it can help to get you there.
This skill can be developed.
I try to develop my optimism through reading inspiring literature, and practicing alternative modalities such as yoga. There is something about how you feel inside after you read some motivational sayings!
It is also amazing how well you feel after a great round of yoga poses.
Recently, I have been studying Yin Yoga where you stay in the poses longer. You feel so great after staying in child’s pose for about 5 minutes.
The stillness of these poses (asanas) helps not only to stretch, but also helps you in a meditative way. When you stay in yoga poses for a longer time, you begin to meditate in the pose. It is so great to learn meditation in a pose like melting heart. I love the asanas that increase blood flow. Afterwards, you are alert, full of energy and ready to start your day.
When you begin a meditative practice, you can begin to see yourself from the inside. That shadow that follows you everywhere. Some good and not so good things are inside of you, and you need to explore all of it to get at your balance in life.
The mind, body and spirit of you, and your shadow. Do some meditation so that you can find your inner being and make the changes you need in order to be more hopeful, loving and positive about yourself and others.
