Zoltar can grant you a wish. But do you really want to know what your future will bring? Uncertainty can be a blessing.
Success in Life
If you want to be successful in life, sometimes you have just let it go to the wind. Detachment is an area that Dr. Deepak Chopra speaks on in his writings.
He is strong on how a person has to detach from things in order to be successful in life. Detachment can mean many things, but to me, it means giving up some of the things in life that you may be attached to. Beginning with the really difficult attachments may not be a good place to start. Try something easy first to get used to detaching from things.
Getting rid of the things that drag you down in life
I decided last week that I would start getting rid of some things in my life that truly do not have much meaning to me anymore.
That is healthy for me, because clutter is getting in my way lately and when I de-clutter, I am more relaxed and organized with my thoughts. Every once in awhile, I do throw out something that I wish I did not, but that passes too. De-cluttering has really helped me, especially when I am down sizing. A few years back, I moved to a smaller home, and now I am thinking I need an even smaller one. And every time that I get smaller- I need to get rid of some things. The de-clutter event gets easier and easier every time I move.
In his book: The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, Dr. Chopra talks about number six with a powerful message to others:
He believes that the Law of Detachment states that in order to acquire anything- you have to give up your attachment to it. They say that about loving relationships too. If you hang on too tight, the person begins to struggle. If someone really loves you, let them go, and they will come back. If they do not, it was not meant to be.
Remember that when you begin to detach from your many attachments in life that you do not give up the desire for them, with detachment you relinquish- let go- then you will have what you desire.
What is attachment?
Holding on to things that are based upon fear, low self esteem and insecurity. And this need for attachment is based on not knowing your true self.
The only thing in life that is real is the self. Everything else in life is just a symbols that come and go. Your car, house, clothes, they are all symbols that can create anxiety.
When you understand your self, you do not need those material things that are synonymous with wealth. Only when you begin to detach from things will you have joy and laughter.
Seeking Security
Many people constantly seek the security of money. But even attachment to money is a sign of insecurity. Those who seek this kind of monetary security, chase it around their entire lives. Remember that the chase for security is an illusion. The only thing that is for real is the present, the here and now. Be mindful.
Uncertainty
Being uncertain of things can free you to be more creative. Not knowing gives you an endless field of possibilities. It is fresh and new. Relinquishing your attachment to the known can really help you step into the field of excitement, adventure and mystery.
