Using Self- Massage for a Pleasant Calmness!

How To Reduce Stress in Your Life

When asked how one can reduce their stress in life, I always suggest self massage and acupressure points. There is power in self-massage, and it can help you to instantly relax when you are stuck in traffic- or just had a bad day.

Start with your head and scalp

After a long day, rubbing your temples can be a good beginning step toward relaxation.  You can also place your fingers on your forehead and gently  smooth the worry lines. Repeat this at least 6 times.

Next when you put some pressure on your temples, use tiny circles at the corner of your eyes.

With slightly firmer pressure began to massage your entire scalp. You should be able to feel your scalp loosen with your touch.

Finally, with your hand in a loose fist close to your scalp, grab a handful of hair and tug it . Work with this tugging throughout  your scalp.

Neck and Shoulders

Isn’t it wonderful that we are able to reach your neck and shoulders. Stand up and tilt your heald back slightly. Next reach back with the pads of your finger tips and massage your shoulder blades. If you cannot do this comfortably, have someone else rub your shoulders, it is very relaxing.

Hands

Use the thumb of one hand to massage the palm of the other hand. Interlock fingers  and apple gently pressure to aching hands, and then switch hands.

Foot Massage

There is a technique called Reflexology which is the rubbing of hands and feet. You do not have to be an expert to give yourself a good foot massage.

Using lengthwise or circular motions, massage the bottom of your foot with both thumbs, and concentrate  on the arch area. Then use the fingers from both hands and both palms to massage the bottom of your foot. Repeat on the other foot.
