Doing it right this time

Reflecting on life

I feel like I am going through a passage lately. I do not want it to be like the last 100 times that I have chosen a healthy path. This time, I want it to last the rest of my life.

I would like my life to be meaningful and pleasant. To accomplish both of these, I have to find meaningful things to do, and pleasant people to do it with.

It sounds like a large goal that may need many steps to accomplish, but I am ready to tackle just about anything today.

As you age, you get closer to reality. The fact that you will not be here forever.

When you are young, things seem so far off that you think you have lots of time to accomplish many things in life. But then it hits you. I think it is around 50 or so. When you realize that maybe you only have another 20 years to live. So now what? What do I need to do before I die?

I am not try to be morbid, so face reality; your last 20 years of life should be filled with things that you want to do- not what others want you to do!

Make your bucket list soon, and take care of the things that  you have put off for so long. Do it right this time!!

So how do you accomplish this task?

Doing it the way you want it to unfold.

I have a list that I am always updating. Here are some of my list items:

1. Helping myself  others to lose  and maintain weight.  You may think this is a vague one, but for me it is not. I have plans on how to accomplish this. I have volunteered to help others, and I have been seeking some new employment opportunities in the health and wellness field.

2.Help my children to learn how to live! This one is vague. I try my best to help each one of my children at least once a week.

This week it is my youngest daughter who needed some helping.

Last week it was my daughter who lost her keys.

On father’s day, I sent a beautiful card with some money for  my son who has a child of his own, telling him what a great father he is- and he is! Conversation with my younger son on his new blooming relationship along with asking his advice on supplements and protein in one’s diet.

A few days ago, I attended my granddaughter’s mother goose play which made my granddaughter very happy.

I purposefully try to catch each one of them throughout the week. It is hard to do. But I want them to know that I am here for them.

I don’t think that they have even noticed that I have purposefully set out to help each one of them, but if they read my blog they may have a hint!

Keeping track of my list helps me to make sure that I keep in touch with my children. They are all adults now, but still need their mother.

Before I die, I would like to be remembered as a person who cared about many people.

I truly want to make a difference. And that is why I am doing it right this time.
