Cinnamon with its great taste, bringing pleasure to the palate is also good for you!
Cinnamon is one of my favorite spices. I sprinkle cinnamon every day on my oats in the morning. Its flavor energizes me for the day!
In its powered form, “Cassia Cinnamon” has been found to lower blood sugar in people with diabetes. Research has found it helpful for inflammation, it has an antioxidant effect ( helpful fighting off cancer), and fights bacteria.
Side effects: No known side effects have occurred, however heavy use of cinnamon may irritate the mouth and lips, causing sores.
In some people it can cause an allergic reaction. When applied to the skin, it may cause redness and irritation.
Because Cinnamon may lower your blood sugar, you should check with your doctor before using it as a supplement.
People who have cancer that is affected by hormone levels, like breast cancer should not take cinnamon.
Because of lack of evidence on safety, pregnant and lactation women should not take cinnamon supplements.
It can also interact with certain medications such as blood thinners, antibiotics and diabetic drugs, so see your doctor before taking any supplements.
