>I know that it is hard to believe, but garlic is probably the best food –( can be a herb and a plant, ) that has been used for centuries in many ways and in many cultures.
Garlic is both cleansing and healing.
Also called “The poor man’s medicine.” garlic has been known to have healing powers- as strong as its odor!
It contains some protein, calcium, potassium, phosphorus, plus an added bonus of Vitamin B and C.
Medicinally, garlic is used as a diuretic, expectorant, antiseptic, disinfectant, and a germicide- it can kill germs and worms (vermicide)
Through the centuries, people continue to use garlic for colds, coughs, sore throats, including lung ailments such as bronchitis, pneumonia, and tuberculosis.
Skin problems: Garlic treats boils, psoriasis, and is a disinfectant to wounds.
In the present, garlic has been used in the reduction of high blood pressure, as a treatment for worms, colds and if used regularly in the diet, it prevents colds, flus and other infections.
So, if you do not like garlic– try to let it grow on you- it is helpful!
And if the odor is bothersome, chew on some parsley- this will balance your breath odor!
Since spring is coming- why not try to grow some garlic: Garlic is easy to grow, and helpful as an insect repellant. It likes sandy soil and good sun.
An effective insect repellant is several cloves of garlic blended with water, strained through a cloth and used as a spray for plants.
