Embracing Alone Times

Filling your days with some good times

Filling your days with some good times

Gloria fought hard to get past the alone times in life to a place that was filled with life and love.

She had family to call on in times of need but it seemed that the times alone were longer, quiet times and noisy train whistle times in the warm air of summer where long walks did not cure the loneliness of time passing without much to do about it.

Lost and Found

Finding moments

It seems that during the holidays I run into friends from my past, and then I remember that today is my Nana’s birthday. It has been a long time since her death but this day, December 18th is a sacred one for me; knowing that Nana is still clearly in my memory brings on a smile so strong is this moment, it is like it is in the present.

I was a little girl sitting on Nana’s bed waiting for her to reach into her chest and pull out a Hershey treat for me. Then I swing back to the present and I move toward staying balanced today, in this moment.

In the middle

I overhead a person talking about his competitive nature

In the middle of the race in life

In the middle of the race in life

He was a bicycle racer dressed in his gear waiting to begin the race. Red, white and blue he wore as he spoke with gleaming blue eyes, ” I don’t really want to win. Winning is not important. I want to be somewhere in the middle; not number one and not last!” he said with a smile.

And life is full of important moments that you will remember the rest of your life. Whether you win, lose or find yourself somewhere in the middle, your perspective is all that matters.

Giving

Giving and receiving are the same thing

Fresh cut flowers bring smiles to many

Fresh cut flowers bring smiles to many

When I receive flowers I am most gracious because they  bring love and warmth inside of me and  to others when placed on my table; passing along the bright colors to everyone who enters my home along with the smell of sweetness that can be carried around with you for the day. Those sweet and honeysuckle scents send shivers down my spine as I move through my day.

Every day I smile as I pass by the flower that I received a few days ago.
