Kicking your feet to the beat of a nice tune

Kicking your feet to the beat of a nice tune

When I think about you the vision of a harmonica comes to mind; seeing you play those blues tunes that linger in my heart center; tapping your foot and smiling. Those days are past now but the visions sweeten my soul.

Shadows, Darkness and Light

Nov 20th, 2015 Posted in A Spiritual Path | no comment »

It was at my grandma’s funeral that I first learned about darkness and light. I discovered that there is an in-between called a shadow that seems to hover nearby finding you when you need it. It becomes your own personal shadow; you know the one that follows you throughout life; allowing you some peace even in times of darkness.

You can feel it right now if you take the time in meditation or prayer where you find that centered moment with your breath. And you breath in and out very slowly; telling yourself softly that you will stay in this moment because it is the only one you have right now.

Shining through

I caught a glimpse of the sun today; a bright, white circle lighting the way to a beautiful and sunny day.  I was near the lake once again, walking past my childhood home, looking closely to see if anything had changed.

I gazed at the ladder above the cliff that I used to sit on, swinging my legs gently back and forth as I stared at the lake, casting some flat, black slate, wondering if It would reach the water.

When Darkness comes in

There will always be darkness and light in your life

When I want to feel better, I act as if…

I act as if I am feeling fine even if I am not.

The reason I act as if…  is because it really does help to practice feeling well. When you are in the role of an actor you will find that you can be whoever you want to be.

Stay with the moment

Pull toward the center

From a distance trees seem smooth and soft, but up close they have rough edges

When things in life begin to get better and the darkness moves into light, be with the moment and remember that life is full of ups and downs. It is the yin and yang of living that pulls us back and forth as we hope to stay on the positive and bright side but are constantly pulled toward a darker moment in time.

Staying in the center which is neutral may be a good option for you today when you notice that things seem to be swinging without reason; clouding your view of life.
