Embracing Alone Times

Filling your days with some good times

Filling your days with some good times

Gloria fought hard to get past the alone times in life to a place that was filled with life and love.

She had family to call on in times of need but it seemed that the times alone were longer, quiet times and noisy train whistle times in the warm air of summer where long walks did not cure the loneliness of time passing without much to do about it.

Hopeful and Healing Ways

Accepting changes in your life

It is easy to tell someone else to stay hopeful because if something bad is not happening to you, you may not be able to put yourself in the other person’s shoes, even when you really want to help.

Gardens can be beautiful. Plant a garden into your soul

It is easier to tell someone else that things will get better but remember that things may not get better for the person you are comforting. If you or someone else is grieving, it is a process which take time to get through, and the steps toward wellness are slow but purposeful. You need to get through things at your own pace.

Just a reminder

Passing by you each day brings a smile to my face

I walk by the same chair in my office every time I sit down to write and it has a small off-white colored blanket that you crocheted for me, hanging gently on the back of the chair. I leave it there to touch each day because it reminds me of all the blankets you crocheted every time there was a birth in our family.

Power to make decisions on your own

I want to believe that you are as old as you feel but at some point you have to realize that you are not going to live forever even if you feel great.
What are the subtle signs of old age?

The bottom line is that you walk alone on your path

The bottom line is that you walk alone on your path

Maybe feeling tired a bit more than you used to, or another tiny line on your face that you did not notice in the mirror yesterday.
Whatever it is, there it will be, and you begin to accept it because there is no choice in the matter.
The biggest thing is your ability to have some control over you destiny. Can you still do everything you want to do?

Hoping can help

Dreams and hopes do get you somewhere.

There is much evidence on people who are hopeful, smile, act kindly and dream about better times.
You do literally drown yourself in tears if you stay there too long. There is not a official time on grief and sorrow but my nana thought so.
