Old Souls

Jan 4th, 2017 Posted in A Spiritual Path | 2 comments »

Old souls are like trees that grow very slowly, touching the earth with their beauty and grace

“I believe I am an old soul who has been around for many years.  I have been in touch with my inner self and I count on it for inspiration and insight. I know that soulful ways are developed as are many skills we learn in life. And I have learned many lessons that have brought me to a center of calmness and graceful movements like a swaying and crackling  branch on a strong, yet flexible tree that catches a warm summer breeze,” said Gloria as she gazed at the coldness of a winter day with its forceful winds that spray sparkles of icy whiteness, shimmering in the sunlight.

It’s all good

Remember that it is all good, even those troubling times that you seem to pass through in slow motion.
With great speed the good things seem to move by you before you had a chance to be grateful.

When are you going to wake up and find that it is all good?
Even on those ugly days without a drop of orange and yellow sunshine, there is good news; you are here for one more day, counting your blessings.

Staying in the middle

If you feel alone in the dark at times, you are not alone because many people go through the same type of darkness and you do. And when Spring arrives with its loving, graceful ways, things change and you move quicker and more purposeful, catching the rays from the warm sunny days.

Bring light into your life like a tree stretching up to the sky

Bring light into your life like a tree stretching up to the sky

My personal darkness opens up to light on occasion giving me some relief when I need it, and sometimes when I don’t. And if you are in a dark time, remember that things can change in the blink of an eye, and better days come along.

Calmness in mind, body and spirit

Stay calm, even when it is difficult.

There are times in your life when you need to just be with your breath; centered and calm; in harmony with yourself.

Learn how to breathe; it helps to instill calmness.

Breathe in and breathe out slower and slower, deeper and deeper, using a noisy breath to keep you in focus on your breath.

Yoga poses and staying in the asana for more that a few moments can be very meditative.

When I breathe in

When I breathe in and breathe out, I relax my body, mind and soul. It is a slow cleansing  inhale, counting to 5; it encompasses my entire being, as my shoulders rise to accommodate this large, deep breath; holding my breath for a moment, and then releasing it for a very long exhale, counting to 7 to get all of it out of my mind, body and soul.

Everything is released and I feel like the weight that was on my shoulders is gone. I am calm, serene and balanced for the moment.
