Old Souls

Jan 4th, 2017 Posted in A Spiritual Path | 2 comments »

Old souls are like trees that grow very slowly, touching the earth with their beauty and grace

“I believe I am an old soul who has been around for many years.  I have been in touch with my inner self and I count on it for inspiration and insight. I know that soulful ways are developed as are many skills we learn in life. And I have learned many lessons that have brought me to a center of calmness and graceful movements like a swaying and crackling  branch on a strong, yet flexible tree that catches a warm summer breeze,” said Gloria as she gazed at the coldness of a winter day with its forceful winds that spray sparkles of icy whiteness, shimmering in the sunlight.

Meaningful Traditions

This time of year we hold on tightly to traditions that make us stronger. We should hang on to this kind of harmony and love all year

“Mom had a tablecloth for every holiday; orange for the autumn times, reds for both Valentine’s Day and Christmas.

The fanciest and  most special cloths were there ones she carefully placed on the table  around the Christmas season where everything in the house had a red and green sparkle of positive energy,” said Dee with a smile.

Healing Softly

“I want to heal but it is taking so long for me to feel well again,” said Dee softly to Gloria.
Gloria always knew what to say to Dee to help her with the many struggles Dee had in life. Gloria would say, “Healing is like a soft white cloud, and it slowly lifts for you to peek through, and when you see crystal clear, you know that you are there in that spot of wellness.”

Every Day

I go there every single day in the summertime
Climbing the steps of wonder

Climbing the steps of wonder

As spring approaches my desire to beach comb and feel the softness of sand between my toes increases as the days grow longer with wonderful sun shiny days and beautiful sunsets.

Focusing on my balance and strength I stumble through the large rocks and glassy green sharps. And I love the chances that I take  because I know that I am just one step from falling but also one step toward a strong center of self-love.

Shining through

I caught a glimpse of the sun today; a bright, white circle lighting the way to a beautiful and sunny day.  I was near the lake once again, walking past my childhood home, looking closely to see if anything had changed.

I gazed at the ladder above the cliff that I used to sit on, swinging my legs gently back and forth as I stared at the lake, casting some flat, black slate, wondering if It would reach the water.
