How is your Skin Doing? Remedies that help skin problems

Oct 19th, 2012 Posted in Uncategorized | 2 comments »

Weeds and herbs can be wonderful for helping your skin.

Here are some remedies for some minor skin problems.

Starting with ACNE: Some first steps to help

Most of the time acne is from too much sebum (oil) on the skin. This oil can  bring about bacteria, causing plugged hair follicles in skin pores.

If it lodges near the surface of the skin, blackheads and whiteheads will form. If a blockage rupture, it becomes a pimple.

Sometimes the problem is hormonal, stress, diet or irritating ingredients in makeup.

What to do?

In the Autumn of our Lives

In the autumn, stay healthy with some roots and herbs.

What should we be eating?

Think about what you are eating, and how much while you head toward the fall and winter. We have to cut down this time of year, and just the thought of cutting back may be difficult.

I have found that the bright, golden and orange veggies in my diet this time of year is helpful, because they are filling. For example, a steamed or baked sweet potato adds to my lunch, while some acorn squash with cinnamon and a little stevia can make my steamed squash taste great.

Autumn Foods

Some fun recipes for your squash and pumpkins this fall.

There are so very many autumn foods, and they are colorful and good for you. Try out some new squashes. I have found that many of them are different. Even the different colors for sweet peppers is amazing. I just bought some purple peppers!

What a better way then to experiment with the great autumn harvest. I bought some large apples at the farmer’s market this week, and the person selling them said they were great for baking. But I just bite right into one, and thought it was great!

Seeing Things Clearly Now

If you want to change, grow something. Tending to plants helps you to put things in perspective. You can change your life by becoming more positive and spreading a positive attitude to others.

As we grow in mind, body and spirit, we begin to think of things in different ways. One of the comments I always hear is, “Hindsight is always 20-20.”
