Breathe in love for yourself, and breathe out a new relaxed you

With the holidays approaching, you need some time to learn how to de-stress yourself.

In touch with yourself
If you want to begin a practice of getting in touch with yourself, begin with the breath.
Daily living may seem difficult and even stressful if you do not take care of yourself with some slowness of breath.

Begin your practice with a deep inhale for the count of 5 and then an even longer exhale for the count of 7; getting out all that bad air!

Right in the middle: Staying Centered

Reminding yourself

I have been trying to remind myself that I need to stay in the middle; not too happy, not too sad, just gathering myself together to stay centered.

When I delve into self-pity or sadness, I consciously try to come around to a center or middle as my own personal yin and yang of living.

I believe that things just are as they should be.

The world is upside down at times

When there is chaos in your world, and you may be doing too many things, you may have to regroup and try something different.

Take Time to Just Breathe

Settle down every day for a good slow breath!

Be conscious of your breathing and then slow it down and relax.

There is much evidence and research done on how we can slow down things so that our heart rate comes down and then the blood pressure.

Make a goal out of settling down and taking a breather today.

Natural Light is beneficial for healing and wellness

In through your nose for the slow count of 5 and out through your nose for the count of 7 to get all the toxins out of your body. And then take a walk down the street to just be with yourself. This will make your day much calmer and in control.

Color in your life is so important.

Beautiful Color can help your mood!

Beautiful Color can help your mood!

Sometimes I go for a walk just to breathe in all the greens, yellows and oranges of life.

This year there is much greenery due to the rain. My herbs are growing like weeds, so I can have more basil, sage and rosemary for my simple, special meals.

At the farmer's market in Hamburg they sell everything! Flowers, herbs, kettle corn and hotdogs from a walking vendor.

Take time to find the beauty in life.

Take time to find the beauty in life.

Finding ways to let go of some of the things in life that stress you out is the first step toward healing yourself. Dr. Jon Kabat-Zin in his book  Full Catastrophe Living describes how to use your mind, body and soul to free yourself from pain and illnesses.

Stress can harm you

There is so much literature on the fact that stress is harmful.

You would think that by now we would take that advice and find ways to decrease the stress in our lives.
