Awaken

You are moving toward the summer months where you need to do more. It is not just about dusting off the cobwebs in your house. It is about dusting off the cobwebs in your mind, body and spirit.

I took my first bike ride today, and I felt kind of rusty.

Something old replaced with something new. My old wallpaper was a favorite, but needed to be upgraded to something new.

Something old replaced with something new. My old wallpaper was a favorite, but needed to be upgraded to something new, and that is a good thing!

Not just the riding part, but the ability to dodge traffic and other obstacles on the road such as pot holes from our lengthy winter.

Do not try to rush into everything that you want to do this summer because you feel like we had an extra heavy winter! Take it slow, prioritize your list of things that need care, ( including yourself) and take a deep breath.

I reminded myself today to take it slow, and for some reason, life made me do just that. A pillow exploded in my washer getting all over the place. I had to spend extra time cleaning it up. At first I was mildly annoyed and then I realized that I should be thankful that I would be taking some extra time with the wash instead of rushing off to do my errands.

If this is you, you need to think about what you are doing, and notice things around you that seem to prompt you to rush through things. And then think to yourself- can this wait until later because there are a few things I really want to do like ride my bike today?

Make time work for you

If you plan better you will be able to find time for everything that you need and want to do.

I think the best thing to do is make a list of your tasks, crossing them off as you go along.

Awakening time

And for my spring awakening, I will touch my mind, body and spirit with some thought provoking literature for my mind, a good clip on my bike, and a long gaze at my garden that needs some tending this week.
