Finding Your Way Through Life

Second Chances in life Are Wonderful

The Second Time Around…

I believe that we have a second chance at doing the things we want to do, once we pass the age of 50. Nothing stands in your way anymore. You can do whatever you want without the lack of confidence or reliance on others to find the “right” answers.

It is like a re-birth

You do not have the pressure of an adolescent or the “get going” attitude of someone who has to finish something in order to collect that pension or retirement benefit that you may have been saving all your life. You are there. Whether you have what you wanted or not. And if you don’t have what you want, go out and get it.

This is your time

Now it is your turn to explore. You may need to make a list of what you really wanted to do that did not happen in the first part of your life.

My exploration has taken me on many paths since I finally decided to retire and have some free time to explore things that I never had the time to do.

What I have done is amazing to me. I have taken on things that I thought I would never do. I have more confidence in myself now because it just does not matter if I fail!

Those Younger Years

In your younger years you probably had that internal push to move toward putting in your years at a job so that you could retire. Now that is overĀ  you can do some pleasant things.

Mine has been yoga. I would probably teach it for nothing, and I do not get much money to teach it, but I don’t care because I love it and it makes me feel good too. So the benefit to myself has been worth it. I feel invigorated, flexible and stronger than I ever have. Sometimes I have to slow myself down because I want to be active all the time.

Finding something that will benefit you and others may be your next step after 50! Find your way, it is like your second time around. Plan it well.
