Is happiness a state of mind, or is it something you have to work at?

Some people seem so much happier than others. Is your happiness dependent on another? Do you think that you would be happier if you did something different with your life?

It seems that many of us feel unfulfilled in life, and may be seeking something that is right in front of us.

I believe that happiness is a state of mind that you may have to strive for.  Even with all the difficulties in your life, there is always something that you can smile about. I always think of the birth of my children. Today, each one of them is like night and day. Different happiness levels to each too.

What I have found in life is that things unfold the way they are going to. It does not mean to just wait and see what happens, it means to let go and surrender to  the flow of things. Think of life as a wave flowing.  It seems to settle down and then it peaks and crashes into shore. You will always have your ups and downs. There will always be the good, bad and ugly things that happen, but they too shall pass. And remember that all of the moments pass on- the good and bad things in life. So be in the present moment, and experience happiness  without living in the future or the past. Be in the here and now of things.

Stop fighting and struggling with the small stuff, and live your life as if this is your last day on this wonderful Earth.
