There are so many reasons to get in touch with your inner soul, and meditation is a way.

There is so much beauty in the world that my first experience with meditation was meditative walking. Just gazing at the colors, the beauty of nature can be a good beginning. Meditative walking is slow, you take your time to gaze at the beauty before you.

I like to meditate on a smile. Some people like a sound or a visualization of something very peaceful.

 

 

I close my eyes and think of myself smiling.

Others like to meditation on the breath, not slowing it down or trying to better the breath, just contemplating on it.

Meditation is a  mindful beginning  where you get in touch with your inner self and when a thought comes to mind, you just dismiss it and concentrate on your breath again.

Meditation can be spiritual for many. People find they become more in touch with God through their meditative practice.

 

In Dr. Deepak Chopra’s book: How To Know God, the author talks about, and defines meditation.

Meditation comes from Eastern philosophy. It is a Hindu tradition of going inward to begin a spiritual quest that will eventually lead to your own enlightenment.

To me, learning how to meditate is a life long practice. I try my best to find a mantra that I feel good about. That is why I like the smile. Nothing is better than thinking only of a smile. My difficulties with meditation lie in my inability to sit still. Meditation is about the stillness of the mind and body.

I am able to still my mind and come to a beautiful place, but my physical body is my challenge. I want to move, get up, and sometimes I do. Time in practice will help me with this.

The focus is to be engaged but also detached.

I find myself in Wonder and Joy at the same time while I meditate.

This presence of beauty allows me to smile and take into my soul a lasting feeling of loving and caring.

If you want to change the world, start with yourself. Beginning a meditation practice is a good place.
