>What Kind of Diet Plan Really Works?

>Do you want to lose weight, or do you want to be healthy and well? I want both!

I believe that there are many ways to lose weight.
Each person has individual needs when it comes to losing weight. People’s bodies are different. Some people have a lot of weight to lose so they need to start with some dieting. Others just need some toning up, so a good exercise plan will help. Remember that “you are what you eat” so keep it clean and begin to understand that you need good nutrition to stay healthy and well.

I require a variety of different types of weight reduction techniques.  It is in my genes! My family has many people who struggle with their weight, and I seem to take after them.
In order for me to lose any weight, I need to diet (with portion control) and exercise, and eat right all the time.

The reality is that we should begin to concentrate on staying healthy, and then the weight will come off, eventually.

If you start a new healthy plan of diet, exercise and new activities such as taking up a sport like bike riding, this can  help with healthy living because you are now getting outdoors more often, and you are concerned about what you eat.

Maybe it is time to forget about all the weight loss plans and rethink what your needs are.
Maybe it is also time to forget about the scale (especially if you watch it daily) and concentrate on the way you look!
For me, staying healthy and living  a long time without any major illnesses is a great goal.

Is that request too grandiose? Maybe, but if I start now with healthy exercise and eating, my body will thank me later.

And If I stay with this plan, I may be lighter and walking upright when I am 90!

As far as planning for your old age, make sure the plan includes all of the above: Healthy eating, healthy living and healthy activities.

Dr. Andrew Weil has a few suggestions on staying healthy:
1. Don’t smoke. Tobacco is the single greatest cause of preventable illness
2.Watch your weight but stay away from fad diets that give you instant results- but not lasting ones.
Eat a healthy diet of lots of fruits and veggies, whole grains and stop the red meat.
3. The younger you are when you start doing something about your lifestyle, the better.
4. Say no to bad people. Stop spending time with people who are negative, violent or put you in bad situations. Keep yourself mentally healthy- connect with people who make you feel good!
