Beta-glucan found in oat bran, oatmeal, oat flour, barley and rye may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease (CHD)

Insoluble fiber found in wheat bran, corn bran and fruit skins may contribute to maintenance of a healthy digestive  tract; may reduce the risk of some types of cancers
Soluble fiber found in peas, beans, apples and citrus fruits may reduce the risk of (CHD) and some types of cancers.
Whole grains found in cereal grains, whole wheat bread, oatmeal and brown rice may reduce the risk of CHD,  some types of cancers and may contribute to the maintenance of  healthy blood glucose levels
